Well its been a while since I last posted on here, and considering we are already one month into 2018, its safe to say this post is a little overdue! I started off the year in Murcia, before flying home and suffering with the flu for a while, then had a few uni deadlines, but I am all good now, so lets goooooooo!
2017 turned out to be quite a good year for me, I finished my first year of university, with a 1st, and started off my second year getting 1st’s in my first three assignments, which I am really pleased with! I turned 21 in September and celebrated by having a big party with all my friends and family, and then jetting off to Dubai for a couple of days. I went on seven planes, travelling to places such as Gran Canaria, Javea, Dubai and Murcia. I became obsessed with Love Island for the second time… I went to Friends Fest in September, which was amazing as I’ve loved the show for years, so it was incredible to see all of the sets, visit central perk and get a hotdog from Monica’s diner. I had afternoon tea in Cinderella’s carriage in London. I could list so many more exciting things that I did and places that I went but this post would go on forever!
I wrote a similar blog post last year where I set myself some goals for 2017, so I thought I’d have a look to see if achieved them!
“I really want to lose some weight and get fit this year.”
Well yes and no, I did a lot more exercise this year, and did try to eat a little healthier, but those takeaways still called me fairly often! I bought Charlotte Crosby’s 3 Minute Belly Blitz DVD and also started swimming regularly which really helped with my fitness.
“Look after my skin.”
YES! I have been really good with my skincare, trying out lots of new products, and seeing what works best for me! I have seen a huge decrease in redness and spots, so lets hope I can keep it up this year!
I mean, I went on holiday quite a few times this year, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it ‘travelling’… I went to Gran Canaria with my boyfriend in June, Javea in August, Dubai in September for my 21st, and ended the year in Murcia!
“Do well in university.”
I aimed to achieve at least a 2:1 this year, however I actually finished the year on a 1st! I was so pleased with myself, and I really hope to continue the hard work in my second year.
“Spend more time with the family and friends”
I feel like I did do this, I saw a lot more friends and family this year. Yes, I still spent a lot of time on my phone and laptop, but remembered to put it away sometimes.
“Write more blog posts”
Fail! I feel like I started off the year strong, then failed, then came back for a bit, then stopped again. I love blogging, but I found it really hard to write posts whilst working two jobs and doing a uni degree, but I will try harder this year!
“I want to read more.”
I aimed to read 6 books, and I managed to read 4, which doesn’t seem that many, but I would still class it as an achievement for me. I read ‘Strong Looks Better Naked’, ‘All The Bright Things’, ’13 Reasons Why’, and ‘Everything Everything’.
“I will go to a football match with my boyfriend”
I actually went to a couple of football matches this year. The first being Ebbsfleet -vs- Tottenham, and I also went to see England -vs- Brazil. I’ve started off 2018 by going to Chelsea -vs- Norwich City, so ticked that one off for this year already!
“Take more photographs”
Big fat fail! I am so bad at taking photographs, I always rely on everyone else to take them and I just steal them and save them on my phone!
“I want to skydive”
No surprise that this one is a fail! But I will do one eventually!
This year I’m not going to set myself any specific goals, but I’d really like to complete what I didn’t manage to do last year, and continue what I did do, and have a happy and exciting year. Let’s hope 2018 is as good as a year as the last!
